PATRIOTIC BLOOD DRIVE IS MAY 24 AT DAYTON CBC

May 17, 2019

DAYTON, Ohio - Community Blood Center is inviting donors to support the "Patriotic Blood Drive" Friday, May 24 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dayton Donor Center, 349 S. Main St. to help boost the blood supply during the Memorial Day weekend. Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment online at www.DonorTime.com.

The theme of the blood drive is "Your Courage to Donate Burns Red, White, and Blue."  Everyone who registers to donate will receive a Warm Glow candle in patriotic colors and the CBC "My Courage Defines Me - I Donate Blood" special edition t-shirt.

The free candles are courtesy of Warm Glow Candle Company.  The blood drive features a Papa John's Pizza Party and pretzel trays from Philly Pretzel Factory, all free to donors, courtesy of our sponsors.

Everyone who registers to donate will also be automatically entered in the Lifesaving Adventure Blood Drive to win a YETI Adventure Package including a Tundra Cooler, Base Camp chairs, drinkware and other genuine YETI accessories.

The Memorial Day weekend and the beginning of the summer travel season is a challenging time to maintain the blood supply.  CBC encourages donors to keep appointments to donate or reschedule as soon as you are able.

New platelet and plasma donors are in high demand, especially those with blood types A, AB, or B positive. These blood components are vital for the treatment of cancer, trauma, organ transplant, and burn patients. CBC is offering new opportunities to donate platelets and plasma at community blood drives.
