CHURCHES TO HOST SATURDAY BLOOD DRIVES

March 27, 2020

DAYTON, Ohio - Safeguards against CLOVID-19 have cancelled any large gatherings, but faith communities are finding ways to help with acts of kindness.  This includes blood drives Saturday, March 28 at Fairhaven Church and St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Centerville and St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Kettering. Make an appointment to donate at www.DonorTime.com or call (937) 461-3220.

Family and friends of former Moraine Mayor Bob Rosencrans will sponsor the 10th annual Bob Rosencrans Memorial Blood Drive, Saturday, March 28 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dayton Community Blood Center, 349 South Main St.

Bob Rosencrans was a dedicated public servant with more than 70 lifetime blood donations.  He was 61 and serving his second term as Moraine mayor in 2010 when he was killed in a car accident.  The family has sponsored the blood drive in his memory since 2011.

The 10th annual observance won't be the traditional life celebration with the family gathering and providing cupcakes to donors, due to social distancing constraints at blood drives. His daughter Megan Rosencrans has asked family and friends to join her in donating Saturday. "We're letting them know how dire the need is right now with so many drives cancelled," she said.
